This Privacy Policy describes how TanukiGolf ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the TanukiGolf service at tanuki.golf (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

Who we are

Tanuki.Golf is operated as a personal development project by Tanuki.golf in Savage, Minnesota, USA You can reach us at michael@tanuki.golf.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: Name, email address, city, state, and country, provided when you create an account or sign in with Google.
• Tournament data: Tournaments you create or join, including team names, course information, dates, formats, scores, and handicaps.
• Payment information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number; we only retain a customer reference and subscription status.
• Technical data: IP address, device type, and browser type are logged by our hosting provider (Vercel) for security and troubleshooting purposes.
• Authentication data: A session token stored in your browser to keep you signed in.

We do not use third-party analytics services, tracking pixels, or advertising trackers.

How we use information

• To operate the Service: create accounts, run tournaments, calculate scoring, share results.
• To communicate with you about your account: password resets, payment receipts, security notices.
• To send occasional product updates, user guides, or feature announcements from michael@tanuki.golf or hello@tanuki.golf. You can opt out of these at any time by replying to any such email or contacting us at the address above. Operational emails (auth, billing, security) cannot be opted out of.
• To improve the Service based on usage patterns and feedback.
• To prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service.

Who we share with

We share information only with the following service providers, strictly for the purpose of operating the Service:

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure.
• Vercel — web hosting.
• Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions.
• Google — if you sign in with Google, your name and email are received from Google's OAuth service.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for advertising of any kind.

Cookies and local storage

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We use browser local storage for non-essential preferences (e.g., theme choice). We do not use third-party cookies.

Age requirement

TanukiGolf is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Export a copy of your tournament data.
• Opt out of marketing emails.

To exercise any of these rights, email michael@tanuki.golf. We will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

We retain your account and tournament data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records). Tournament data you created may be anonymized and retained if other users participated in those tournaments.

Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted database storage at rest, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 18. See "Age requirement" above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated via email to active users.
